Michael T. Bidner

Thomas Michael Bidner was born in London, Ontario, Canada on August 31, 1944 and died April 5, 1989 from Aids. He had been producing art since 1970 and exhibited in juried, open and invitational group and one-man shows both in Canada and abroad.

He was noted for his work in collage and serigraphy (silk-screening). He explored and produced works utilizing publishing, photography, correspondence, writing, typography, motion film, multi-vision, video, painting, drawing as well as some pioneering work in xerography.

"...a clever composer and skilled technician, he has incorporated the machine into his already broad definition of printing. Bidner is involved with the character dimensions of the human image, whether isolated, fragmented or juxtaposed with objects to magnify an aspect of it's reality..." Janice Andrae, London, Ontario, Canada.

"...I work in many media with a special interest in the preparation and presentation of technologically generated imagery. The seductive appeal of graphics within this area of work is strong and I take every opportunity to exploit it's potential where it will enhance my work..." Thomas Michael Bidner
